From The Pulpit

Today's church is in desperate need of producing disciples for Christ. Many of those who come to faith in Christ, live their lives in a very superficial way when it comes to Christianity and discipleship. But when Jesus approached people in the New Testament and challenged them to follow Him, He did so with the idea of them becoming His disciples, not just superficial believers (Luke 14:26,27,33).

In Matthew 28:18-20 (commonly known as "The Great Commission"), Jesus gave the charge to His disciples to go out and make "disciples" from every ethnic group. If the church of Jesus Christ is going to be salt and light to a dark and sinful world it must have an intentional plan to make disciples. The making of disciples should be one of the primary goals of every local church! It has been said that, "people don't plan to fail, they just fail to plan." Disciple-making calls for strategic planning if we are going to produce disciples for Christ.
